Nelson's Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey is a revival of one of Tennessee's most historic pre-Prohibition distilleries — brought back to life by brothers Andy and Charlie Nelson, great-great-great-grandsons of the original distiller. Crafted using the original pre-Prohibition wheated mash bill and process, this handmade sour mash Tennessee whiskey is a genuine piece of American whiskey history restored. Bottled at 91 proof (45.5% ABV).
Nelson's Green Brier Distillery was one of Tennessee's largest pre-Prohibition distilleries, founded by Charles Nelson in the 1860s. After Prohibition shut it down, brothers Andy and Charlie Nelson revived the brand in 2014 using the original family recipes — one of the great American whiskey comeback stories.
Uses wheat instead of rye as the secondary grain, producing a softer, sweeter character — combined with the traditional Tennessee sour mash process for a smooth, approachable whiskey.
