The liquid is a dark red color and is often mixed with other alcohols and non-alcoholic drinks for cocktails. The drink was created in 1860. Depending on where the Campari is sold, the alcohol content ranges from 20.5 percent to 28 percent. When you smell Campari, you'll be reminded of pomegranate, strawberry, spicy herbs, bitter orange and cherry. The flavor starts off sweet and is followed by an herbal, spicy taste. After that, the bitterness of the drink starts to build.
